1. First, gather all your ingredients and equipment. Make sure your martini glasses are well chilled. It makes a big difference!
2. Next, fill your cocktail shaker with ice. This is important for a perfectly chilled martini. Don't skimp on the ice!
3. Now, measure 2 ounces of your favorite tequila or vodka into the cocktail shaker using a jigger. This ensures you have the correct ratio of alcohol.
4. Add 1 ounce of fresh mango nectar. I prefer using homemade, but store-bought works in a pinch (but trust me, homemade is waay better!).
5. Squeeze in half a lime. Freshly squeezed lime juice is key. Bottled stuff simply doesn't do the job.
6. Add a dash of lime juice. (Maybe half a jigger?), you'll need to adjust this based on the mango's sweetness
7. Add 2-3 dashes of your favorite hot sauce. Start with less and add more if you prefer it spicier. It's easier to add more than to take it away!
8. Secure the lid tightly on your shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels very cold. This is crucial for proper dilution and chilling.
9. Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass using a strainer. This removes ice chips and keeps the drink visually appealing.
10. Garnish the drink with a lime wedge and a few chili flakes. This adds a final touch of color and a visual hint of spice.
